Hello,

I've got a Realtek 8139 NIC that is built into my motherboard, I was wondering what these settings mean. When I open Device Manager and click on Properties for the NIC I go to the Advanced tab and 3 settings have me stumped:

Early Tx Threshold: 15
Network Address: Not Present (would this be a MAC address or an IP)
Receive Buffer Size: 64k

Does anyone know what these settings mean? If you have them what are they set to currently?

Thanks,

Network Address - this allows you to change/spoof your MAC address. Not Present = use the one the card has. In normal everyday computing, you shouldn't need to use this option.

I assume Recieve Buffer Size is simply the recieve buffer of the NIC..
