View Full Version : Does anyone have some Sandra shots of a Duron OC CPU?
(title)
Just curious what kind of marks these and Celerons get. I've always tended to stay away from Durons and Celerons but they seem to be pretty popular around here for some reason :)

i don't own a Duron...the reason a LOT of people own them is because they are CHEAP!!!! Why go out and burn up a 210 dollar processor when you can push a 40 dollar processor to the edge and get GREAT results for cheap????

Here is my duron 600@1104 138FSB 2.05v Pep66 heatsink. I just ordered a dd cooling cube, a maze2-1 and a pump so I can try for a 100% overclock 1200mhz!

good luck bender, that really would be somthin :)
I don't doubt that it can be done especially if I decide to get a peltier later on. The computer is 100% stable right now at 1104mhz. The block and cooling cube should be here next week so I'll let everyone know if I get the magic 1200.
lookin' forward to see the results....i wish i could double my Duron 850 ...that'd be 1.7Ghz !!!! ..wow!...if only...........

wow! bender that is probably the best duron overclock i have ever seen. i wish i could get this thing over 1.1 but i cant get anymore volts outa this soyo board "wish i could find a mod" perhaps you could elaborate some on how you got there i would love to hear it
Dozier do you know what kind of voltage regulator you have on your board? If by chance is it a 5322 or an HIP6301 I may be able to help you out. Here are my system specs:
Duron 600@1104 2.05v AKBA core MBM says 38 no load, about 50 at full
Asus A7V133 Modded up to 2.45v, better fan on north bridge
Alpha Pep66 with 7k fan and variable resistor so I can handle the noise
2 80mm case fans (soon to change)
Kingmax pc150 @ 138 222 timing
Powmax 300 watt psu
Geforce2 ddr
Dlink eathernet card
Cheepo sound card
IBM GXP60 40gb drive
Mitsumi floppy, keyboard, cd drive
LG electronics 8x4x32 (traded for 250ft of cat5e)
This (http://www.tcwo.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_prod.html?p_prodid=351&sid=1gi2Ty0GlMX75KG) shnazzy case
Kinyo speakers
Very cool tealish green MS serial mouse
Samsung SyncMaster 753DF monitor .20 horizontal dot pitch
If you didn't hear already I am about to try water cooling with a dd cooling cube, a Maze2 water block a 500gph pump and lots of other nonsense to get me up to 1200mhz.

they are mtb1306 regulators
kewl man i've got my own water setup running on this machine luckilly i have a machine shop in my basement lol makes prototyping a snap i guess if u cant help me with the regulators im gonna go look up the techdocs on em and see what type they are and go from there im shure they are positive adjustable loadsensing ones but i dont wanna take the soldering iron to em without a little input on the subject
I have to add my two cents. This is a DURON 600 @ 1.1G on an ASUS A7V133. I have another DURON 600 that will do a little better (1.13G) I have that one working in anotherbox at the moment and can't access it for some screen shots at this time.
Here are the codes off this one;
D600 AST1B
AKBA 0031VPAW
92207160901
And here's the SANDRA CPU benchmark;
not going to do screen-shots cos i don't have decent imaging software installed, but i'll do some benchmarks right now... hang on...
cpu/fpu: 3075/1503
mmx: 5973/7540
mem: 515/623
that's with the following system, still running a window of ie5.5, outlook express, mbm5 and the dial-up connection. not too shabby methinks!
-duron 600@1102mhz (10.5*105) - ROCK solid after 10.5 months!
-asus A7V giving 1.94v to the chip on the 1.85v setting - wierd mobo quirk...
-alpha pal6035 w/ delta to keep it cool.
-256mb generic ram running asynchronously with the bus at 140mhz 2-2-2.
-20.4gb wd hdd.
-win98se
-the rest's not important...
i like durons! :)
