View Full Version : [SOLVED] 1gig TBird
I got my new Tbird AXIA 9 it will run rock solid at 10x138 at 1.85v but when I try 10.5x133 at 1.85v it will post but not run any kind of 3d apps. Should I give it some time to burn-in before I up the voltage to 1.9 to see if I can get it to run at 1.4

its always worth giving them some burn in time some people preach it some people scoff it. i say break it in like your gonna drive it. but it certanly wont hurt

My advice:
Run your computer at the highest stable speed until you get the itch. Then crack the case and find a bottleneck and fix it. Rinse and Repeat as Desired.
*Not a huge fan of burning in a cpu for the sake of burning it in ... but of using it for awhile doing things you normally do until you just have to go faster.*

That chips (AXIA-9) average O/C is about 1350-1380mhz, you may get more, but it will be hard. I agree with burning in and maybe that will work. Good Luck!!
well I upped the voltage to 1.9 lastnight and ran sandra burnin for 3hrs and am now running at 1400(10.5x133). Just got done running 3dMark2001 for 2hr and not a single lockup. I am going to run it at this voltage for 3 days and then drop it down to 1.85 and see if she will hold.My temps dont look that bad 46/26 idle 53/31 full load room temp of 22

Good O/C guy, keep it up!!
What happens when you go the other way, say 10x140, or 10x145?

It works fine the other way Hoot but I get better gamming preformance with 133 bus and 2t ram settings with system set optimal.
Sounds like, for the memory you chose, you have found your limit for CAS2 timing. Faster memory will let you up that FSB and still stay at CAS2. Every setup has a "Wall".

After playing 6hr of Mechwarrior4 last night and being the host of a 10 player game for the last 2 hrs of the night I whent back and tried the 140x10 and it is working just fine. going to go run 3Dmark and see what it is going to do it wouldnt evan run the first set ou tests the last time I tried it>Iwill post the results,if it goes for 2 hrs should I call it good?

That is sweet dood! Also a good score for 3-d mark 2001. Is that CPU temp at idle or maxed out? If it is idle that is a bit hot. If not you are doin pretty good.
that is after running 3DMark for 2 hrs
