Hi all,

I recently bought an Abit BP6 in the classifieds from Miknow. It had a broken cmos battery holder and I replaced it with a good one. I tried to boot it and fans spun, but no post. I then tried to clear the cmos and boot again, still nothing. I have a spare Abit BE6, which is not the same as the BP6, but close. Slot 1 vs dual Socket 370 and the same northbridge and southbridge chip, etc. Could I swap thedead, the caps took a nosedive and I got the soldering bios chips from each board without any damage being done just to see if the BP6 boots? The BE6 is completely dead, the soldering iron too hot and burned the traces when I tried to replace the caps. Until the caps went bad it was a good board and booted properly. Thanks for the help in advance.

Lance:)
