Just letting everyone know so the can gauge the difficulty of finding that prized code
Saw about 20 of each listed chip
Every 1.4 T-bird I saw was an AYHJA 'Y' all Unlocked
1.33's saw, about 4-5 AYHJA 'Y's and most AXIA 'Y's
1.2's saw, no AYHJA, 1 AXIAR 'Y' :) , 6-7 AXIA 'Y's, some AXIA '9's, rest crap
1 gig T-birds, 2 AXIA '9's, 1 AXIA 'Y', 3 AVIA '9's, 1 AVIA 'Y'
and zero AXIAR 'Y' :( everything else crap!!! Yes I kept good count of the 1 gigs, this is why I went!
Didn't look at any of the other speeds
That's a lot better than the show in Fresno four weeks ago. It took two of us to find the only AYHJA and it was a 1333 (9). AXIAs were everywhere.

Many of the 1.4's I looked closely at were AYHJA0125, I am pretty sure the 25 is week 25 putting it at around the last week in June. So these chips were right off the boat!
Oh by the way the show is in the twin cities

Do you happen to have any round-about prices on the chips. I am trying to decide to go to a show or not.
Thanks

at teh state fair grounds??? how much were the other ones??? im thinking about going...
did you see the epox or iwll mobo? and do you remember the prices?
lemmingboy

I don't remember specific prices other than the 1.4G. $182 I think they were all right in line with pricewatch.
I didn't see the Epox 8K7A if that was your looking for. Truthfully I wasn't looking hard for motherboards cause I have an Epox and some PC2400 coming in the mail. I didn't pay an attention to the I-will boxes there, no idea. It seemmed that all the DDR boards there were ASUS with a few generic thrown in there. It was littered with Abit KT7-R's. The reason I went was to find a 1G with a awsome code, and if I couldn't find that I was going to get a 1.4 AYHJA 'y'. I ended up with the 1.4G
Some other notes:
The show is smaller than your exspecting. I thought it was going to be huge, not that big. I looked at almost every chip in that place!
The dealers are going to look at you wierd when you ask to look at there chips. Some got kinda pissed when I kept asking for different proccessor speeds.
It isn't air conditioned, don't ask me
stay clear of the Road Runner table, the guy is annoy and talks forever.
You might want to learn chinese! JK
You can pick up cables, cd-rom's, fans, heatsinks, etc. for dirt cheap
I agree I went this weekend and got a 1.0mhz AXIAR0123GPMW. I hope is one of the better chips , But the guy told me I had some issues. Because I wanted to look at all the chips.

Yeah I was up at the fairgrounds on Friday and it was damn hot and humid in there.... I got myself a AXIA Y 1 GHz chip, the one place where I found AXIAR's wanted $125 for a 1 GHz chip and there was no way I was going to pay that. Two places had 1 GHz 266 chips for $89 but they were both AXIA 9 chips. So I paid $99 for an AXIA Y and threw in the towel. Got some fan grills and a HDD while I was up there too. That one booth in the back with all the fans mounted in that one case was a good place for cooling stuff, with the exception of HSF's. Only one place had brand name socket A HSF's - Thermoengine and FOP38. Oh well. I figured on a pretty slim chance for finding an SK6 anyway.

I went Saturday morning. Got there an hour too early, after running some errands. Sat on someones deck while the line for tickets slowly formed. I looked up and down the line and I gotta say, it made me feel pretty normal. ;D
I was looking for an acceptable full tower and specifically an Antec. Fat chance. Almost bought some 3 to 4 pin fan jack adapeters, but $2.00 a pop didn't set with me. I can make them cheaper.
I decided to shop CPUs since I had some jingle burning a hole in my pocket. I expected 80 vendos like the add implied. If there were 20, it was a miracle. Throw out the guys selling cell phones, CDs, and Training and there were about 6 full spectrum Hardware vendors.
I had some unexplainable desire to pick up a 1.2 AXIAR "Y" Tbird. I saw a lot of 1.0 AXIA "9" chips, A lot of 1.33 AYHJA "9" chips, a few 1.2 AXIAR "9" chips and One 1.2 AXIAR "Y" chip. I paid $115 for it, made one more pass and split.
Rushed home and Saints Be Praised, my wife and 7 year old were gone. Prepped it and put it in. WTF! it would not post at 10x133 until I pumped the Vcore up to 2.00V. I let it run P95 Torture, off and on until the next morning and it still took 1.95Vcore to run 10x33 reliably. No wonder it was the only one there... What to do?
Being faced with a list of "Honey Do's" or disappear, I again drove the 40 miles to the Fairgrounds. At least traffic was lighter. The "cab drivers" who were doing tickets tried to make me buy another pass, but some security guy waived me through, despite the ticket taker's scowl. I proceeded to where (nameless) I bought the Lemon chip. When I explained to the kid working the counter that "something was wrong with the chip" and I wanted to exchange it for another, his demeanor changed like the weather. I got introduced to the recent Russian immigrant who called the shots. He insisted all the chip were new and tested before the show. He insisted on testing it himself and I insisted he use the same setup. KT7A, PC150 CL2 RAM, etc. Grumbling, he started to cobble up the setup. From his attitude, it dawned on me that I was in for a fight, since the chip worked fine at 9x133, as I already knew. He put the chip in and slapped an HSF on it. No TIM, no grease! He fired it up and amazingly, it would not POST. And I skipped church that morning! Anyway, he was apologetic and went to fetch me another 1.2 AXIAR, which I knew there were no more of. He returned with a chip and informed me he had no other 1.2s and instead, I could have this 1.33 AYHJA "9" chip. I thanked him and quickly left the premises.
It's burning in, at home, at 10x145 @ 1.85V, as I write this from work. I'll have more on it later.

A little (maybe 14) kid with bleached hair? That's where I bought my HD. Those scheisters wouldn't match prices. Hell, no one would. I didn't want to wind up with an AXIA 9 chip so I paid $10 extra for a AXIA Y after I discovered that the AXIAR Y (all 1 GHz chips i'm referring to, here) was gone.

Does anyone know if a computer show ever comes to Atlanta or how I could find info on that? I have never heard anything about a computer show in my area and it pisses me off. You would think that Atlanta would have them alot. Maybe it's just wishful thinking. I don't know. Can anyone help me. I have searched on the net for info, but couldn't find anything. What show are you guys talking about?
Hoot - Your story sure beats the luck of the draw any day!
eheh hoot you lucky dog. Too bad that Y chip didnt turn out better than you thought. Like you said it is hard to find any oem cpu's that havent been picked through for the prime chips. Getting harder everyday.

The "Blue Star" company that runs these shows isn't too good - at least not at filling the room with vendors and picking good ones. You didn't miss much. When I went to a Blue star show in Kansas City in February (keep in mind, this was FEBRUARY) I couldn't for the life of me find an Abit KT7A. I mean, c'mon!! KT7's everywhere, KT7-RAID's even more frequent, and KT7A-RAID's. That's the only reason I bought a KT7A-RAID, because it was the ONLY KT133A mobo I could find there. This past weekend's trip didn't uncover much better - The only DDR boards I saw were the K7 Master and an Iwill KA266. Pretty pathetic if you ask me. Craploads of cheap boards but not very many good ones at all. This time was also the first that I saw name brand coolers other than Orbs. (FOP38 and a Thermoengine). I think I mostly need to find a show that has better vendors. So the moral of the story is, you didn't miss much.

Don't cinch that belt up too tight. After two days of burn-in I've only got it up to 11x140 (1540) stable. My 1.0G/266 AXIA-Y can do that. I haven't tried many overclocking combos yet as I'm still trying to get back on an even keel after installing 3R on my KT7A. Lost something, somewhere, in the process. :-(
