I am a newbie tooverclocking and i don't really need that much speed....i just want to learn how to do it....so what would you recomend i do? i read a lot of stuff on overclockers website, that i should increas the FSB and have really good air circulation and stuff, which i already knew. but do you think i should do?

Welcome to the forum! First of all we need more info as to what hardware you have like motherboard info would help. Here's a good link to start with:

i have a 1.2ghz AMD C Class(266mhz FSB), an ECS K7VZA V3.0 mobo, 256mb pc133 RAM CAS 2, a ThermalTake Volcano II, and Arctic Silver II.

My case is an ATX case with a 300w power supply.

I hope this is enough information

What will happen if i "unlock" it?? will that help at all?

It'll allow you to change the multiplier. That way, you can get 10*133 to get 1333 instead of 9*133. You can also get other mulitipliers as well, not just 10

There should be some stuff on the front page under Beginner Guides for unlocking. From there, you should be able to change the multiplier in your BIOS

should iahve more multipliers and less FSB? and when i increase my FSB, how much should increase it by?

ok....so basically this is waht i do....

Unlock the processor by bridging the gaps in L1
go into my BIOS and increase the FSB and multipliers
and make sure that the prosecor stays really f---ing cold

Yes, just dont use curse even though you edited it out it still offends people on this forum a bit. A lot of young'ns frequent this forum that is why.

Your 1.2 gH tbird should already be Unlocked

your 1.2 should be unlocked already

the deal is you need a board that alows you the change the multiplyer

that board isnt a good foundation for a overclocking project

you dont have to get the high doller boards but get a good name one...like...Abit, ASUS, Epox, Tyan, Gigabyte, and MSI....all i can think of at the moment

but you will need a board that alows you to do the thing you need to overclock
multiplyer, front side buss, and voltage adjustments

thanks for everyone's help

i was just thinking that i should get ir real cold and not overclock, i'd rather have a cpu that doesn't mess up than anything else.
