I have a BBA 9800 Pro 128 ddr with 2.8 ns ddr, I really am not using the card to its max, I have an offer to trade it for a 9800 NP that has Infenion 3.3 ns DDR plus cash.
Will all 9800 np's flash to a Pro card? How does the Infenion match up to the Samsung 2.8 I now have. I would get the 9800 NP and $100 bux canadian = ($72 US)
I have been humming and hawing over my card for a while now, and since I assume a 9500 Pro and 9600 pro runs all current games well the 9800 should be even better including the newer DX9 games to come right?

U doubt anyone is willing to trade their infineon ram plus 72 bucks or your samsung ram. That put their price into the 9800 Pro range.

I owned a BBA 9800np for a couple days before exchanging it for a 9800Pro + $100. I had a lot of problems after flashing it with the 9800Pro Infenion bios, mainly bluescreens etc... My opinion, If you need the cash then do it but ask for more $$$ otherwise stick with your PRO.

Then offer is available already, the guy wants to do the trade plus cash as stated above. what are clk/mem on 9800 np and if I just leave the card as is does it run all games with AA AF at 1280x1024 res quite decently?

A BBA 9800NP w/ Infineon 3.3ns memory? I have heard of only Infineon 3.0ns, Samsung 3.3ns and 2.86ns, and EtronTech 2.86ns (crap) memory being used on NP's.

some of the infineon won't do pro speeds, so you may not be able to do a pro flash, u can still get like 330 or so from the ram probably, and the core should clock about the same. It will still do AA and AF @ 1024X768 quite nicely in most games, even at stock speeds. If you need the cash, take it. If not then don't. :D.

actually I have now found out the card has Samsung 3.3 ns ddr
it is a BBA card
Results On: 102A0751600
Product Description BIOS Part Number 102 Part Number
RADEON 9800 128MB VGA DVI-I TVOUT - DELL, COMPAQ 113A07514100 102A0751600
I assume clk/mem is same as all 9800 np's..... Well I can trade my 9800 pro for this card and the equal of $77 US as I asked for a bit more cash and the guy has agreed
Seems the 9800 np when overclocked is equal to a 9700 pro or a bit faster in some cases, should be more than enough for me and the new games to come
thanks for feedback

Samsung 3.3ns memory is the memory most have used when flashing their Radeon 9800 NP to a Pro. It's memory that has gotten 380MHz+ speeds, after a flash. As long as the Radeon 9800 NP you plan on getting is not a dud, then it's a good deal selling a 9800 Pro for this NP + $72.

That's a good deal. The samsung 3.3 will get within 20MHz of the samsung 2.8 on average. Core overclocks should be pretty close as well, though there is no guarantee.
BTW, the 9800np at stock speeds is equal to the 9700PRO, but the 9800 should overclock much higher than any stock 9700 card.

Happy Happy Happy!!! All I can say is that trading my BBA 9800 pro for a BBA 9800 Non pro with Sammy 3.3 + $77US cash was well worth it!!!!!
I flashed to 8004.bin bios and scored a nice 18,500 in 3D01 with default core/mem speeds with my 2.4C at 3.2. I plan to go with a higher fsb gonna try to hit 290 which should be completely in reach with this particular chip and pc4000 I have. To bad the previous owner never tried this, I have let 3D01 loop for 5 runs and all is good so far, will test 3D03 next and begin the overclocking on the vid card to see where it tops out, but first need to AS5 the core and add some sinks.....
