I want to make a electronice way to fire my paintball gun but I lack the knowlage to find the right parts to make it work.

My goal it to have a way to use a 9v battery that when actvated with a push button switch fires a solenoid that in turn trips a machinical switch which fires my paintball gun, well I could make that kind of circuit so what I need help on is making it so the solenoid resets after each pull of the trigger and so it can be pulled 12+ times a second. I also need a way to shut the circuit off when not in use. I don't need any funky firing modes just semi auto.

TIA :p

Or you could purchase a paintball gun that comes with an electronic trigger. You can get a good marker with an electronic trigger for under $200.

In all honesty, I don't think you'll get anything extra out of building an electronic mechanism to press the trigger of your marker. It's still a manual trigger and won't be able to fire much faster with an electronic finger.

With that said, perhaps you can use 2 solenoids. One presses the trigger down and the other shoots the trigger pulling solenoid back.

For reference I have an A-5 so it is not a piece of junk brass eagle that was never ment to be electronic, in fact I can buy a electronic grip to do that but I like the challenge to build one of my own. What I am going for is not to increase my ROF because I can already pull 12 BPS out of it, what I am going for a a system that has a lighter trigger pull.

Well, you might be able to somehow spring load the solenoid so that it automatically is reset when power is disconnected. Press the button, solenoid is activated and hits the trigger. Release the button, solenoid goes right back. I'm thinking rubber band for some reason ;)

For full auto, you could build you own custom solenoid which could "sense" it's fully extended position and automatically cut off power to itself. Then, when it senses the "reset" position, it would reapply power (assuming the switch was depressed) and fire again.
That would be sweet :D

Would need a push button switch that shuts off when depressed, then just use a spring to push the solenoid back, put the push button behind the trigger and run the power to your trigger "switch" thru the push button, when the trigger hits the switch the power is off the solenoid goes back power comes back on, cycle starts again. Change the strength of the spring to control the cycle time?

I will probally just go a head and do the simple way by hooking the battery directly to the solenoid, but I was going for a transistor and cap setup that would quickly discharge the cap and give the solenoid a quick spurt so I could hold down the trigger and It would not fire without another pull, because If I were hold down the trigger with the simple setup then it would keep rapid firing beucase the latch that snags the bolt will still be held down, and If it were to rappid fire the balls would chop from the breech.
