have you checked the temps with a different software.

Are you sure that the hsf is seated correctly? Those temps are really high for that heatsink and AC II. What type of case ventilation do you have? Ideally you should aim to keep those temps under 50'C. I would check and make sure the hsf is on right, if it is, look into your case cooling.

you have an Asus motherboard and using Asus probe to get those temps?

Well i' m using a program called
"Motherboard Monitor 5"
i'm pretty sure my HSF is installed correctly and my cables are really tidy
and i've got 2 80mm case fans
my mobo is A7V133 and 1.2Ghz (200fsb)

Make sure that you motherboard monitor is setup properly. to make sure check your temps in your bios. If they are still high then the problem is your heatsink is not sitting properly because i used to have the same thing on my 1.4ghz athlon and the temps were around 45c so take the heatsink off (which i know is a pane with that darned clip and reinstall it makeing sure its getting proper contact. Also only use a thin layer of your artic silver 2. Report is this helped or not.

I checked my cpu temp on sisoft sandra 2001
and my temp was 41C
how come the temp on Motherboard Monitor 5 is so different to Sandra
which one is more acurate????????

the sandra one. Asus mobos are notorious for giving temps 10C too high. Thats why I asked about the Asus mobo ;D

I new that was your problem. Now that your temps are where they should be start overclockin to hell and fun.
