i need suggestions:D

You could be a real friend and build him a nice rig and take whats left. Seeing as how you really didn't say if this will be a gaming rig or what not. I'd ditch the 9800XT for a 9800Pro and drop the AMD 1800+ for a nice Barton 2500. ALso take alook at zipzoomfly

it is a friend he said "take 500$ for yourself"
it will be a gaming machine

in that case....

Case- Antec sonata

optical- Liteon dvd rewrittable

cooling- thermalright sp-94

hard drive- 160gig WD

memory- (2) 512 mushkin level2 (best ram on market currently)

motherboard - Epox 4PCA3+ (3.3vdim....hits 300fsb easily)

processor - 2.6C

video - 9800pro

total- 1442$

~~overclock the 2.4C at 5:4 ratio up to 290fsb.....3.5Ghz...
5:4 ratio @ 2/2/5 timings is untouchable by any amd system (excluding amd64 and fx)

sorry, i overlooked that :(........i wonder if he knows wc doesnt help max oc THAT much.

*edit*

I say save about 200 dollars for water cooling so that gives you 1300 to spend on the comp which is alooot of money. Get a good idea of what kind of parts to get and then here are the cooling options...

CPU: Swifty MCW5002-P (or A), Danger Dan RBX (he might like this better cuz it looks "cooler")

GPU: Swifty MCW50 (with 1/2ID tubing adapter) or Danger Dan Maze 4 (It's always a nice option to slap on some ram coolers)

NB: get a quiet (Below 25DBA) 40mm fan and slap it on the exiting heat sink

Pump: Hydor L30 as its cheap, dependable, identical to 1250

Heatercore: the good old 1986 Chevy Chevette

Plumbing: Clearflex 60, Metal-clamps, T-fitting, teflon-tape can all be bough at www.mcmaster.com for cheap price in one place.

Water Additives: Dex-Cool or Zerex SRC with some colorful dye

I got most of my parts from www.cooltechnica.com

Have fun
