SATA drive not conected to the HDD led?

When i format the drive on the SATA channel the HDD led doesnt lite up or blink? Its like its not connected to the board or somthing.

I thought the same thing. I went from a PATA to SATA drives. My PATA drive made it light up, but when I put in my SATA drives, it stopped. I guess, somehow, I flipped my little plug upside down and had the pos. on the neg. Oops. I flipped it back, and presto, it works. Give it a try.

thats not it it lights up when it loads it wasnt working when it was formatting for some reason.

Seems like it only works at certin times? heavy access maybe it dont work?
