WTF? please help

i am trying to fix my friends computer but i dont know what the hell is goin on with it. its an amd xp1700 with an evga geforce2 mx, a soundblaster live, and 512 gigs of ram on xp home. when ever i start it i get 5 options: safe mode, safemode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, start windows with last best settings, and normal mode. i get the windows splash screen but no matter wich option i choose i the computer always crashes and restarts. the weird thing is that before it retarts i get a flicker of what looks like a blue screen. its only there for an instant so i cant read it.

any ideas?

Is it overclocked? 1 stick of ram or 2? We need more info to be helpful.

1) what do the temps look like in the bios?
2) have you run memtest yet?
3) what do your volt lines look like?
4) when did the problem begin?
