Can I expect to see teh same performance out a Raid 0 setup of 2 raptors if I use this controller as I would with, let's say, with a Abit NF7-S?

Thank you in advance.

Most likely yes, if you use the latest BIOS for both the card and the onboard RAID.

You actually see improved performance. With the more expensive true raid cards that do all the raid calculations and mirroring etc on the card, performance is huge and tasks your system nill. On integrated MB options, as on the pci cards, the chip still uses mostly system resources to maintain the array. Naturally performance still increases. PCI cards are known for performing better then integrated because more of the load is put on the card and there are fewer complications with southbridge to controller communication, compatibility, etc.
