which is better?

my mobo is IC7-MAX3. it has 2 kinda sata controller. one is controlled by the ICH-5 (intel) one is controlled by silicon
wonder which is better for the sata?

One is for sata raid and the other is for normal sata(no-raid).

That's just simple not true. Both will do raid. The intel will do raid with two drives. The SI with 4 drives. Theoretically, the intel should be faster as its off of the south bridge and the SI is off of the PCI buss.
