I am reading reviews and articles about the average overclock being between 1.6 and 1.7 ghz. I'm can't get 1.55 outta this thing. I'm running at 1.4ghz at 1.83v and i'm getting 60C steady. i can get 1.5 at 1.9v but it hovers around 65C. Way to hott for me. I have a modified asus a7v133. i can run at 2.05v but it looks like everyone else is getting to 1.6ghz at 1.85v so i ain't gonna crank the voltage up higher cause it makes the board run hotter. i'm using an OCZ Gladiator with delta fan cause i read several reviews saying it was the best thing for under $50. I'm using Arctic Silver 2 paste and I have 5 other fans going in the case which is also open. I hoped to be around the 40C mark like most everyone else. The chipset runs between 30-35C. I'm using a 300W psu and I think this what's holding me back but i want to check with other people before I buy a 430W psu. Even if i get 1.6ghz out of this i'm almost afraid to think what the temps would reach. Anyone with a system like mine that could tell me what their running would be greatly appreciated. Please no one less than 1.33ghz cause you 1.2ghz and lower run much cooler. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum!
hmm, that might be the limit for that chip. All chips are not created equal, so that might be the case.
It might also be a good idea to get a new psu to power all of the stuff you have in your comp.

welcome
i would say change the power supply anyway
also remember
if the CPU has to work harder because its under powered....it WILL be a little hotter than it should be
If you arent getting those readings from an aftermarket therm. Don't trust them anyway. A CPU is either going to get the volts it needs or not, if it wasnt you would be talking about locking up as well, which you arent.
I think Azzkicker should change his sig to say "Change your PSU" that way he would never have to type at all :D

60C is TOO HOT it needs to be in the 40's and then i bet you hit 1.6 that is wayyy to o hooot
Don't feel too bad. I just got a 1.33/266 AYHJA "9" this weekend and I have to go up to 2.0V to get 1500 out of it. I can get 1450 at 1.85V. It's no better than my trusty 1.0/266 AXIA "Y".

I purchased a PowMax 400w PSU and I can't even get 1.5ghz anymore at any voltage. I am currently running at 1.33ghz since I can run at 1.58v. Its between 48-53C. I assume the lower the voltage the cooler the cpu. I don't know how low it will go but I don't want to press my luck. I don't know what else to do besides buy a water cooler or pelt. Which I'm not gonna do. I ain't that hardcore. I have supposedly one of the best HSF's in the OCZ Gladiator with Delta fan but still no go. I have another 1.3 ghz and another a7v133 on its way anyway so i'll see what i get out of that system. I'm thinking maybe I should have bought the Antec 400w instead cause that is on AMD's website as a recommended PSU. I'm using motherboard monitor 5.08 to get these temps. I assume its accurate and I don't need to have an temp compensation on. I'm gonna keep playing with it but this motherboard is funky too. Every second restart it doesn't boot. I get the blinking orange light. Don't know why. Even when updating and restarting windows, it won't boot without powering off and repowering. Hmmm interesting. Well thanks for your help all. And thanks for welcoming me. I'm sure I'll be posting more again.

Hey just an update. I am running 1.5 ghz @1.82v. Its hovering around 50C not bad but much better than 60C LoL. I'm getting a new case and some better air flow in the case. I think all the hott air is getting trapped around the CPU socket area and not escaping. Hopefully this will help me get 1.6 and higher out of this. I'd like 45C tops but I'm not gonna be picky. Thanks.

I have the same chip from Newegg.com and I can get it to 1585 at 1.9vcore. I have to go to 2.0vcore to get to 1625. After that, I am stuck there. I am thinking it's my PSU since I have been reading that the Enermax PSU's aren't good on my new motherboard. I got my FSB up to 160 but had to back down from reboots.
