I am bored, I wanted to see how low I could go. How about 800mhz. Anything under that Winbloze will not boot, go figure.
I wanted to add it is nice to see some members putting face pics in, it is nice to put a face to the names.
I ram my duron 600 with no fan and a FOP38 heatsink at 1.1v for a while. It worked great but the temps still got to high for my liking. I didn't use any case fans either so my computer was very quiet.
I accidently underclocked my Athlon 900 to 500 at default voltage.
(after failed o/c and cleared cmos)
Me: Hmm, the computer seems pretty slow.
(I check cpuid, see it at 100x5)
Me: Oh crap!

for fun i have done it also just becuase i am not running anything that needs huge amount of MHZs but i put my 700duron.... 7.0x>>>5x and bus100mhz with defualt voltage to get me 500 but i dident stop there i wanted more!!!!...so i put 5.0x90mhzFSB @1.1voltage and got myself a nice slow 450MHz duron running with awsome LOW LOW power heh.
I underclocked mine all the way to zero when my water pump died.

well u dident run it then right....becuase i though if your running it the lowest Multi settign is 5x and bus speeds vary but some get 90 and below thats how i got mine
This was directed to TT120 as in run it right i ment by turning on the cpu

With this new BIOS my lowest miltiplyer is 6 and I cannot go under 100mhz FSB. I tried 100mhzFSB and it did not post, I guess Win98 will screw with you both ways, up and down!!

with my board i cant choose Multi with Bios i had to do it the good old way via dip switches....for what multiplyer all the on off switches were writin on the board so i know what to flip on and off via dip switch.....i am surprised i thought all socket a mobos went to 5x
UNDERCLOCK???? I thought the use of blasphemous curse words was frowned upon here.
I once accidentally underclocked my old K6II 450 down to somewhere around 150 once.
So when do we form the new sight called UnderClockers.com? Or has it already been created but under a code name like Dell or Gateway?
So when do we form UnderClockers.com a sight devoted to making the fastest computers slow. Or did Dell and Gateway already form a secret place devoted to UnderClocking.

Under clocking is usefull sometimes when u dont play games often and do anything that requires huge processing power and just to test out how good the cpu is.... i am currently running 700@500Duron with 1.10Vcore outa the defualt 1.55 so i am useing less power and probly creating alot less heat. its just fun to test the limit of the cpu sometimes
