Hello!! Since i dont understand nothing of overclocking, how can i overclock my AMD Duron 750 MHz, in the system BIOS, decently? I have 256 MB of RAM and my motherboard is MSI K7T Pro2.
By the way windows, doesnt start (error message)when I change the FSB (clock by slight adjust), to 110 in the BIOS SETUP! I can only work at 106 (the minimum is 100, the maximum is 133). I´ve already tried to change the Vcore voltage! Why???
My temps are currently 45ºC of CPU and 33 for the chassi (that is 113º F and 91º F)
PCI cards installed are one (my cable modem card). Vcore settings are 1,65 V (Maximum is 1,80V)
Type of RAM, SDRAM 133 MHz
Case latency setings are 7,5 x 106 = 795 MHz.
AND NO, IM NOT INTERESTED IN UNLOCKING THE L1! IM ONLY INTERESTED IN CHANGING THE FSB!

Thanx!

I think it is your chipset holding you back, doesn't the pro2 have the KT-133 chipset? If you have the KT-133a you can expect more.

it might be your ram also...is it PC133 or is it cheap stuff?

Is that 45c temp idle or under load? If load what programs did you run and for how long?

Well i am guessing here but 750 Duron right and if u bought like me thats probly around october2000 i would guess... there is a good chance u gota old board from the days that socketA cpus first came out ....for myslef i can only get 107FSB since i gota old board...check your rev. number if its prity high u shouldnt have a problem try sticking a HSF if u got one lieing around on the northbridge and if u got pc133 ram CAS3 but got it to work at CAS2 u might have to bump it up becuase the ram cant take the extra speed at its current settings.....Also Unlock your CPU (it might be factory unlocked just mess with the multipyer to see if u can get higher...and unlock it via a HB pencil its soo easy and takes like 30secs see tomshardware.com if u dotn know how to do it) to get AT LEAST 9.5x so 750 is now 950 then bump up the fsb as far as u can with 1.85vcore my 700 was uped to 9.5x and the fsb went up to the max... i got 969Mhz outa it but my standard cooler wasnt good enough i was getting some major heat problems after i passed 850Mhz make sure u got good HSF on the cpu befour pushing it past 850..

hopefully something from my post helps u out :)
