Well, the halt-on-idle is what you want to look for, but it may not be listed as that. (or could possibly already be enabled).

I was poking around in WPCREDIT last night and it appears you can change your multiplier.... this led me to an idea.... I wonder if we can do this for any motherboard - apply a multiplier setting once you get into Windows..... That would help a lot of people. There are a lot of people I have meet who are looking for a modest overclock but cant due to no multiplier adjustment.

This is the best how-to guide I can find, I cannot find the original that I used, but you need to change offset 52 to EB when you are familiar with the program. I can help ya if ya need it. This will cool your CPU down by at leat 5c if not 10c.

I tried to do this with my kt133 board when i had it. It wouldn't let me, they were some how "locked" in the bios. this would only be possible if the opion wasn't locked in the bios and only hidden.

Have you played with the program to know how to change settings yet? The same .PCR file works for all AMD chipsets. The one I sent to you by e-mail. Let me know when you know how to change the settings and I will tell you what to change. I cannot be on for awhile tonight. Tomorrow I will give details, sorry for the wait.

Have you installed WPCSET? This will allow the changes to stay when you re-boot. The pcr file you need to use is 11060391.pcr. When you open wpcredit you go to file on the top and choose open pcr, then choose (double click) the file above and it will describe what each hex and such meen. The first one you should change is 52 to EB. The others I am not that familar with. I am horrible at typing and describing what I am thinking, but I will do my best. Is there a way I could help you by chat? ICQ, AOL, Yahoo? I am on all them. I am sorry for not being more deatiled. Damn I need a drink!!, bad week.

Step 3, then when this comes up, click Yes, it is OK. The changes are NOT permanent yet.

the yellow dot denotes the line that deals with cooling, mainly 52
the blue dot denotes the line that deals with Video mods, like fastwrites, sidebanding and so on.
the white dot denotes the line that deals with memory, like 4-way interleave, cas settings and so on.
the red dots show what you enter in wpcrset when you are done, this pic will follow shortly. paint by numbers man!!

step 4, this is what WPCRSET looks like when you open it for the first time.

Step 5

TranceBear
07-27-01, 07:00 PM
step 6, after you click add on WPCRSET

TranceBear
07-27-01, 07:00 PM
Step 7, the highlihted boxes are the only ones you will change

TranceBear
07-27-01, 07:04 PM
Step 8, The register box corresponds to the hex box on WPCREDIT, these should be the same between the 2 programs.
The data box is the same as the data box on WPCREDIT

Step 9, finished mod, it should look like this when you are all done. now if you change another part of your registry, you will of course have different values for each box. The best way is to play with it and see what happens, the changes are not permanent until you use WPCRSET.
