dell's get no respect here because most of us build our own computers.
if you're running at 3Ghz then you most likely have a P4 unless something major happened that i'm not aware of. so yes that's a good system albeit a dell.

1) You have a Dell machine. Typically they perform OK, but try to overclock one and it becomes h3ll. The motherboard offers nearly no options and the graphics cards they supply suck.
2) 3hz? lol I think you mean 3GHz - in that case you have a Pentium 4 system - new, should be fast
4) 2423? I assume you are referring to the members' signatures - here they put all the stuff to do with their computer. 2423 MHz is a typical overclocked AMD Athlon XP speed - and many people on the forums here own these.
5) Welcome to the forums!
EDIT: Damn you emericanchaos, with your uber speedy fingers... :p

Hey, Welcome to the Forums :)
Your PC is a 3GHz dell - this is the speed at which the main 'brain' of your computer processes data. A 3GHz dell is definately a Pentium 4 CPU which is near the higher end when it comes to CPUs.
However, CPU speed isnt everything, you need to consider memory size and hard disk size as well when deciding whether or not a PC is good or not. Any idea on their specs?
Also I see you are from Glasgow, I am from just outside Edinburgh myself :D. Nice to see another scot on the forums :)

This is actually one place I have no problems or worries about telling my real name, where I live, etc. Everyone on here is respectable and honorable IMHO. I have never received negative or bad comments from any user. Granted, I have only been on here for about 6months, but from what I have seen, there are a great group of guys on here that only want to help you out. Hopefully, I am considered part of that “group.” :p
As for your dell:
I built my current PC out of a Gateway. :D Just upgraded a few parts. The only thing that really sucks about Dells and Gateways is there cooling. It is horriable. My old Gateway had a fan on the CPU and THAT WAS IT!!!! Talk about great airflow

A good place to start would be by acknowledging, and using your keyboard. A-E-I-O-U.

Its true. It may be 1337 not not use them, but it makes it a pain in the *** to read. If you want help please do not continue to write like that. Plus Im sure that it takes more time to do it. So save both of us some effort.
Ok, Thanks.

Yea, they weren't to bad to read at all. I just couldn't do my normal breze through reading.
And hell yes it's nice to see some female overclockers. We have way to much testosterone around here. Now we just got to get you out of that Dell ;)
Oh, and on a funny note, my friend had a Dell right. Well, I got him to run 3DMark2001. His score was a soaring 957!!!!! No I did not leave out any digits!!!!

omfg w00t w00t, I have a better score them someone!!!!!!!1!11!1 (packard bell in sig)
Seriously i hate all prebuilt computers, dell, packardbell, acer.. I thinks they all suck *opinion*
Your Mum is right, people should be careful about giving too much out over the internet. These are a great bunch of chaps here on this forum, but ANYONE can read this stuff, even non-members.
Hehehe, I get a kick out of threads like this. Some new guy posts like this and he'll be lucky to get 2 or 3 responses. But, some young lady posts and she instantly has everyone replying.
Welcome to the forum!

LOL,
I think this IS a guy having a little fun with the rest of us in the forum.
If not:
The Dell will suit you just fine..
1: You can look up*EDIT*Justin Timberlake pictures at record speeds.
2: You can use you un-leet speak in the chatrooms without any problems whatsoever..
3: You can use your new machine to fine tune your solitare skills!!
Since you can do all these things on a Pentium 1 as well, it maybe be a bit of overkill.
To the guys:
Get a real woman.. Its a-lot more fun..

LMAO, man_utd. Not that we'll ever know about.
her performance would really depend on which 3ghz P4 that Dell is shipping. they have reworked the 3ghz chips twice, notice in sandra the different P4's running at 3ghz with different cores. the original one gets killed by an overclocked athlon like mine, but i cant compare to the newest ones that are getting over 9800 mips. i suspect dells ship with 3ghz pentiums that are getting about 7700mips, unless it is BRAND new. notice 2 diff 3ghz pentiums in pic:
http://myweb.cableone.net/legendboot/screen.jpg
under my score is the newest 3.2, 3.0, the old 3.0, and the xp3200+. noticable diff in performance from the 2 different 3ghz pentiums. hope you got the new one :D
I think this thread has served it's usefullness.....
