Hey all,
I really want to take off my 10k 80mm fan and replace it with this massive 8k 150mm fan my dad gave me from his work. This fan has enough air blowing pressure to blow over a 500ml water bottle when the waterbottle is full! Anyhow, since this fan has strong currents and just 4 prongs, how could I possibly mount it to my SK-6?

I'm sure I've seen something like that before. But I remember it being attached inside an engine nacelle at work. Are you sure you are going to put this on a computer instead of an airplane? Just checking.

If I am not badly mistaken when a fan quotes 50/60Hz than means it requires AC power not DC power from the PS.
Good Luck.

go to home depo and get some 'L' aluminum, looks like this from the end.

Try 3/4 in by 3/4 in by 1/8 in thick, about $4 for a 36in piece
Then get creative with a hack saw and drill!!! You could probably find a way to attach it to the metal and then the metal to the case. Attach the pieces of aluminum together and to the case with sheet metal screws.
Have fun!!!!!!!!

yea, its goin in the computer eventually,
thx Lemmingboy for da advice, I goin to homedepot on the weekend to get this sucker working.
Yea, I wont be able to connect the power of this fan to the m/b, it will require a powerpack hack anyway so I am just going with a 10w or so power pack.

Jet powered computer, eh?
I'd build an aluminum retainer, much the way lemmingboy said, but i'd sand the alum first, and use super glue to hold the fan on, it means that you can remove the fan without any tools, and the glue will hold a ton of weight....
Good luck, i managed to put a 127mm into the bottom of my case... :)

Yeah, this fan is very very loud. It originally came from a furnace vacuum pump. Notice, the way it is designed that its basically "all fan" with just 4 small prongs to be attached to somthing.
