Noisy pump

I have a submersial pump that is rated at 150GPH. When I hook it up to my system with 1\2 I.D. tubing. the pump clicks a lot. I think the clicking is from the backflow of the water because the tubing is too small. I need some help with making my pump silent.

clicking happens at the impeller because the shaft and the rotor spin at the different rate.. You can fix this by Impeller Mod. It works someties and it doesnt sometimes but you can always give it a try. http://www.wc101.com/guides/ViaAqua/ similar process as the linky
