View Full Version : install windows at default speed or overclocked speed?

does it make any difference if i run my axia at default 1ghz or 1.4ghz when installing windows 98se? is there any difference or doesnt it matter.

I think the general "best practice" is to load your OS at the stock speed...so you don't corrupt the load when it checks system parameters. I have loaded OS' with the CPU overclocked without a problem...but you might as well back down to stock and save youself the trouble of having to start over again if something does go amiss!! Good Luck

Install it at default speed!! I have had many a problem with Windows systems installed when overclocked.

I usually install also at default speed. I have installed overclocked with success more times then not. But why take the chance. Then you know you wont get any corrupted files during the install.

Yep, stock speed is best. It simply ensures it's installed how it's meant to be.... no extraction errors should occur due to OC'd speeds etc
