Ok i have a Asus a7v133 and a 1.0 (266) cpu.. I tried to unlock the cpu and run my system.. Well i think i crossed a bridge and i got no post.. Took system apart and cleaned the cpu and now it will only post at 750 100(fsb)??? when i put it back to 7.5 *133= 1000 it might post to windows then i get a blue screen?? what happend is it my cpu or MB??

Probably not toast. If you can still run it underclocked then it runs. These things are more of an all or nothing deal. Windows may have corrupted in the process, try a reinstall. It is still possible that something flaky happened, but I would look to the OS first.

cpu is not gone, that is for sure. you cranked it, so it runs...also i know from what i have seen that if you TRULY crossed an L1 connecting bridge then you would have burnt the chip...i would reinstall Win

I had the exact symptoms, posted it here, and got a response to clear my CMOS, after that everything is back to normal.

Re-installing windows isnt going to do anything for his POST. I'd go for the CMOS reset as well. If that doesn't work, I'd say you fried sumthin!

I dont think you could have killed it. I think i crossed a couple of bridges once, it wouldnt post, but when cleaned it worked fine.
