The only thing when it comes to computers that i have a complete lack of knowledge in is memory, and i got a question that has been bothering me. when i get my new RAM for christmas (Kingston HyperX 2x256Mb PC3200) i want to know if i will be able to run dual channel with the current 256Mb modual i have in addition to the new Kingston. or will i need to have the same timings for all three sticks? and i know of course that if i overclock the poopy generic RAM (2,2.5,2,6 not to bad... :D) it will overclock nowhere near what the kingston will do plus my old ram is pc 2700. so whats the best option at this point for my old stuff.

Your best option is probably to sell your older PC2700. Doing so right here (at these forums), and advertising the fact that you were able to achieve DDR400 w/ 2.5-2-2 timings should allow them to sell (at a good price).

Before you purchase your new memory, be sure it's of "NON-A" revision (if you are intent on purchasing KHX3200). Buy a 512MB Kit of KHX3200K2/512 and not KHX3200AK2/512. Or you could purchase KHX3000K2/512 and have pretty much the same performance (esp. with added voltage) as you can with KHX3200, as they use the same chips.

acually i wasn't able to get DDR400 only 333Mhz which is still a mystery to me because my FSB is at 200MHz and not 166Mhz, but thanks for the advice.
