NVIDIA to ATI conversion

Switching from gforce4ti 4200 to 9600 pro ultimate. Card was a new egg refurb. Removed nvidia drivers (video driver, left the NFORCE board driver) using add/remove programs function (windows 2000). When I S/U with 9600 card in I had crazy artifacts and vertical stripes. I still managed to install directx 9b, restart, and then catalyst ?.9 (latest), and restarted again. Even worse screen. Did I do something wrong and leave some NVIDIA junk in there? Or got a bad refurb?

This is on an Abit NF7-M (onboard video to further muck things up) and XP2500.

i think there is some nvidia drivers stuff still there u need a program to help emliminate them, i forgot the drive cleaner name sorry
