hi,
i have a question, do athlon, mainly t-bird, and Duron have fixed multipliers, or not.. i mean can i change them, to get a higher frequency without changing the bus... the mainboard i'm thinking here is ASUS K7V, or something like that... can you do that on all mainboard or you can't do it at all??
thx,

high end tbirds are coming unlocked so you can change them.

durons are locked except for a handfull

all others can be unlocked by closing the L1's. check the frontpage for details.

The K7V is a slot A motherboard and will require a "golden finger" device to change the multiplier.

The later Athlon designs are using socket A designs and they are fairly simple to unlock (if they are not already unlocked).

A socket A mb wont take a slot A CPU and visa versa.

Hope this helps.
