I have a friend who recently bought the Apacer HandySteno TN202 128MB USB flash drive. Since I am one of the better known "computer gurus" on campus, she came to me with this to say about it:
Last night I had my USB thing in my computer and someone bumped into it. Now it doesn't work.
She proceeded to show me how the case had partially broken and that she ripped the rest of it off. So I took a quick look at it there and noticed that the USB connector was slightly bent.
Now when I'm finally able to get to my computer, I find that the drive is recognised but it can't read the integrated driver (or whatever it's called). So I can't access it.
Messing with it a little bit more (without the casing this time) the light indicating power comes on for a second and then blinks off, this makes me think a loose connection, but I can't see anything that would actually be a loose connection.
My goal is to access the drive just long enough to get the files off so I can transfer back to my friend. Any ideas on pulling this off?
Thanks,
The GAT
