View Full Version : I can't believe it..FRANK..you are a genius
That 1 gigger I thought was on the RMA track...has been redeemed!!
Frank suggested I do the famous pencil trick and by golly captain I think shes gonna make it!!!
I must confess that I just HAD to look at the other chip in front of me to see if I mistakenly put the Duron back in!! I let it POST at the default for the Duron 700 so the initial screen was the same...but now the fun begins.
A hardy hurah and thanks to all for your help.

So far I am at 10*100 and doing fine.
TranceBear, I noticed we have some similar stuff! Except, is your CPU the 200 or 266? I believe your post said 200.
I need to pull the HSF again and do a better job with the AS2, temps at 41c(MBM5 says 47). I was being sloppy earlier just to see if it would POST. Still can't figure that one out. Also, I will later want to use my conductive pen to make the L1s permanent.
I'll push it some more later tonight and post some more.
I also want to figue out how to post screenshots! Have to do some studying on that. Do you know if I would need a webpage set up to refer to before I can post a picture??
To do a screenshot, press alt-print screen to take it of the active window, or print screen to take it of the whole screen. Open paint up, paste it from the clipboard, and save it as a jpeg. The forum can host the images, just check the "Preview yer post and/or attatch a file" box, and point it to your picture.
I've been telling my wife this for years.
When I showed her this, she rolled her eyes asked me if this was from one of my buddies that are looking for "ET" too! Then she gently grabbed the kids and slowly left the room.
Someday she'll understand, someday she'll admit she knows me!
ROFL.......Sometimes it just takes them a while...
Am still amazed it worked and still perplexed as to why
Hey I noticed about the only major difference between our setups is your WBK38.
What kind of HSF is that?
I'm using a Taisol all-alum but I don't think it is going to cut it with this 1 gigger. Temps are near 50c at 1.23MHz. Too high me thinks!!
I'm running 12*103 cause till I put that blorb on the Norther, it doesn't like the high FSB. Even at 133 and the memory is running 2-2-2, it locks up hard.
Thanks again Frank ... gotta love this forum...

The WBK38 is manufactured by Global Win, according to the reviews I've seen, it performs slightly better than the FOP38. Around $20.00
If you are using an ASUS board, keep in mind that it has been reported that the ASUS Probe shows temperatures as much as 10C higher than actual, my experience supports this claim. I keep mine in the mid 50's or lower if possible.
