I'm losing interest in folding. I don't know why, I just am. So I've decided to stop once I reach 100k. At the current rate, you should see me gray in about a month, maybe a month in a half. I might start folding again maybe later. Cya

To each his own. Thanks for all the work you've done, hopefully your contributions will help find a cure.

Dont take this the wrong way, but what does it hurt? Are you going to do something else, or notice effects from it? Im just curious cuz I only started like 2 days ago.

IT IS TRUE THAT FOLDING HAS CALMED DOWN A BIT, BUT HOW DOES A PROGGY THAT WORKS IN THE BACKGROUND AFFECT YOU, UNLESS YOU PLAN ON DOING ANOTHER PROGGY. I ADMIT THAT AT TIMES I HAVE GOTTEN BORED, BUT THE ONLY THING I WAS WILLING TO DO WAS START FROM THE BOTTOM AND WORK MY WAY BACK UP OR JOIN A SUB TEAM. JUST MY .02. I WISH YOU LUCK IN WHATEVER YOU DECIDE THOUGH.

Yeah I have slowed down as well, the machines I borged are losing connections or the software just isn't running. I also dropped back the horsepower at the homefront due to the fact the electric bill is outta control. I don't think I'll ever stop, but I will move over for the next gen of power folders, being at the top (5th at one point) was/is one of the coolest achievements ever. I hope you still continue boie just maybe tone it down rather. CYA!

Those of us who have been in the fold for quite sometime know that most everyone goes in and out of folding at some point. I was out for over a month and now I'm slowly coming back in.

I still have your nifty install for Win98 machines Nitro, with my own issues I haven't been able to take the time to fix my install threads and such. I hope you stick around, but if you wander off I wish you well.

I second Wedo's comment. We all drop in and out on occassion.

At some point you cant be bothered spending time keeping your borgs alive, for one reason or the other.

I'm a testament to that as well, I started out with 1 CPU, suddenly has up to 20 in februar / march this year, then dropped back a bit, raised my pointage for a race against badvector, and now I'm going downhill again.

Life's a rollercoaster :)

Cheers, Flix

Folding doesn’t produce cures for cancer ect. It increases understanding on why dieses form and from that cures or drugs to alleviate the symptoms could be produced, but this is a long term project to increase scientific understanding, it wont produce instant cures.

Noone is expecting his CPU to secrete an unknown substance to cure cancer, we are expecting to understand how the proteins fold and why they misfold. ;-)

No need to apologize, I know you've been very busy these past couple of months.

I'm not bothered about keeping borgs alive, 100k has been my goal since the start.

Powerbill, and my ears. My computers are in the sunroom, when they all fold they add the to fury amount of heat already in this room. My parents dont mind keeping the computers on b/c they just shut the door (even though that makes it worse), but it runs the electric bill up to keep the A/C running all day.

I wish you could use my apartmant. EL-bill is included in the monthly fee so I can waste as much el as I wish. But sadly I don't have rigs to do that with :/

I live in Sweden and el here is cheap as hell!

I've found a new home.... for now. SETI is actually quite fun. The WUs don't take long to process, and SETI can be run at low just like FAH so it doesn't slow down your resources. It even has a service install, and network service install. :).

The Dark Side, tempting it is. Quick, easy at first, but a trap is the Dark Side. Corrupting, evil. Once you start down the Dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny. For the Light Side, patience you need. Control. Peace and harmony it is.

Well my goal may be alittle smaller but it is to get to the top 100 of our team #32 and then I quit. Guess I will have to go to the darkside also.

My Goals is to reach the 1st page, top 100 than to reach the top ten, than to reach #1, than on to #1 in the hole project. I set goals all the time but once i reach them i set new ones.
