9800 XT Temp Probe

Does anyone know if it is possible to check the temp monitor on this card? The reason why i ask is I am getting terrible artifacts in almost every game even though i am not overclocked.

Could mean that your card is about to die...but to the answer of your question....i don't know sorry...i was not aware they were equiped with sensors

Or it could just be that his card is not making good contact with the HSF anymore. I would just take off the HSF, apply a fresh layer of AS or whatever thermal paste you have and then put the HSF back-on.

I can attest to the fact that most of the time, artifacts are heat related and does not necessarily mean that your card is about to die.

The XT cards indeed do have a thermal sensor but how to access it is a good question indeed!!

Artifacts usually mean the ram is too high not the GPU I thought? Try turning the ram back a little and see if it helps.

Artifacts occur if the clock and mem are too high. Its a little diff on other types of cards though. Try going down a clock on both till they're gone;)
