fast writes is it actually real bad?

what does fast writes do that makes the computer unstable or what ever, and what is it suppose to do?

I keep it enabled. If you get instability you might try disabling it but that should only be used as a temporary solution. It might be possible to get a higher overclock on the memory if fastwrites being disabled gives the memory a higher latency setting but thats just a guess.

It allows your Vid card to write straight to your system ram for a buffer, without asking the CPU first, so it makes things faster. Thats what I have heard
