Help!! :(

I'v been trying to re-setup my cousins computer, for like a week now, it seems everytime I try to install any catalyst drivers the computer just freezez during bootup. It goes to the spash screen and after that just sits there with a blank screen.

The vid card is a Saphire 9700 flashed to a 9700PRO, the system is a P4 2.4@133 and Corsair 512MB DDR333.

I can get into the system in Safemode, i uninstalled the drivers, and still cant get back in, but when i stuffed a 9600PRO in there the system booted up fine. ??? Yet the system works just fine without drivers and the 9700.

The mobo is an Abit IT7MAX the origional, legacy free board.

It sure sounds like you're having problem with the 9700np --> 9700Pro. I've seen these things before with flashed cards.
Did the card EVER work after it got flashed?

Yess sah, the card works fine, I ran Aquamark at 350 Core and didnt have one snowflake, but after the comptuer gets restarted, POOF it stops working. :S
