i was messing with the multiplier and when i changed it and booted to windows the screen was all garbled and set to 640x480 256 colors and had visual artifacts. I told a buddy online and he said my processor needed to be unlocked, so i read a few articles and looked at some pictures to be safe. when i took my stuff apart i found that it is factory unlocked and now im screwed, i tried upping the voltage and that didnt help. Any help would be awesome

Welcome to the forums - always happy to welcome a new member :)

You're right, this problem sounds odd - did you raise the fsb at the same time? And what settings were you running at originally, and what settings were you trying when it all went pear-shaped? Also, have you fixed the video now? Lot of questions I know, but maybe with a little more info someone (or myself) might be able to help.

Post more information about your system including the CPU settings. This sounds like a video card issue to me, You may have to reinstall your drivers.

At the time i was raising the multiplier i left the fsb at 133mhz, shortly after changing it back to 10x133 it all went to hell. Never was able to fix the video problem, and now my motherboard is non functional. Maybe it was a bad mobo? Ill be getting a replacement shortly, any new info from you guys would be super.

Hi,

I think you should get a better cooler than that mini superorb, if you really want to overclock. ORBS are no good coolers, except the new dragon orb and the copper orb, but there are definetly better coolers out there than those from thermaltake!

Thanks for the opinion but i doubt my heatsink/fan is causing the garbled graphics as they dont appear at 10x140 but only when i change my multiplier.
