I was able to get the special Intel deal and its going to get here Thursday. I know the mother board isn't anything special: Intel D865GBF. I really have to clue about ddr ram since I've always used rdram prior to getting this new system.

I'm considering getting 1 GB of the Kingston HyperX PC3200 and have a coupon that will cost me a total of $194. Is this a deal I should jump on and what type of timings am I going to be looking at to run this thing at?

It a shame that I won't be able to overclock since I don't think the fsb is changeable on this board. But upgrading the board is an option for down the road.

If that is KHX3200 rather than KHX3200A then it sounds like a good deal to me.

If you don't plan to overclock than that should be the memory for you. If you do then it is still among he best.

If you have no idea what I am talking about, have a look at the sticky "This Weekend's BH-5 Pricelist".
You can also compare your price to the prices listed there.

Timings for "this thing" should be 2-2-2-6 if it is KHX3200,
if it is KHX3200A then you probaly need to run it at 2-2-3-6.
