View Full Version : Cooling Question????
Hey quys, my system spec is on my signature. My room temperature is in the mid 30's and my system via monitior is reading my system temperature to be 28C. My CPU temp is 42C at load and 39-41C at idle. I'm using the SK6 and the loud.....delta fan. When I go into Sandra this tells me my system temp is 24C WHO AM I SUPPOSE TO BELIEVE Please help guys. Another thing I have an IWILL KK266R board and these have only a heatsink and no fan on the northbridge. Will I need a HSF ????
CPU 11.5X by 135 = 1400mhz @ 1552
A fan on your northbridge could possibly allow for a better fsb overclock and it might add stability. It is nertainly not required, but is advised for serious overclocking. A simple blue orb should be fine. I have found that VIA Hardware monitor is pretty accurate, although I have a hard time believeing that your system temperature could be lower than your room temperature. There was a recent article on the front page about the VIA hardware monitor and it seems like it is very accurate.

I have an Iwill KK266R myself, adding a HSF on the northbridge did not help me all that much, but it did help a little. I could do 155 FSB without a fan on the northbridge, and after adding a HSF to the northbridge, I could do about 157 FSB stably. That is not all that much of an increase, but it is definately something :) I didn't use a blue orb though, i just screwed a 40 mm (i think 40 mm) fan into the heatsink already on the northbridge, a blue orb might ger you better results.
