View Full Version : The new AMD processors in the UK
When will we Brits see the AMD Palamino Athlon 4 and eventually when are we going to see ( or even touch! ;-O) a Slegdehammer or Clawhammer?
I went into Time Computers in Stirling and asked the two guys there "When will I be able to buy an Athlon 4 System?"
They just gave me a blank stare...

They are available in UK (https://secure.webstrikesolutions.com/chillblast/docs/pi1511144762.htm) in 1 Ghz nd 1.2 Ghz "flavours". I just (friday) got a 1.2 Ghz MP Pally and am waiting for my new DDr mobo to arrive to see if it can hit 1.5 Ghz as ppl claim(www.athlonoc.com i think). I have heard that the 1 Ghz are also big time o/cers from the same "disc" as the 1.2s but frankly I wasn't prepared to risk it. It came in the coolest little black box and I spent most of today drooling over the core (sad I know but hey ;)) I am a bit worried about the voltages tho I think they use 1.4v but am not sure whether my board will use this as default.....As for the hammer, is it still on the cards? If so it will prob be a long time coming.
