Hello Good people of the OC forum,

If anyone has any experience with the GA-7DX I need your help. Is there anyway to change the default voltage settings for the VCore on this motherboard. The BIOS does not allow VCore changes nor are there any dip switches. I would really like to lower the current voltage to see if it will improve my temperatures. Is there any software / BIOS update that would allow me to change voltages?

My last motherboard died on me, it was an MSI K7 Master (word of advice, dont buy K7's... good friend of mine lost his soon after mine died). The motherboard reported CPU temps of 42C idle 52C load. The new G-7DX reports temps of 52C idle! It may have something to do with Gigabyte boards and thier temperature sensors.

One last question... Is there such a thing as PC2100 233 DDR CAS 2.0 RAM or did they gype my by selling me Crucial PC2100 CAS 2.5?

I have a 7ZX with latest BIOS update, sadly even though this is quite a fast MoBo, I can only change the FSB.
Also I too am baffled by "High" temp readings on my Gigabyte. I have a ThermoEngine which it now reports at 50C load. By all rights it should be about 8-10C lower, I have no stability issues so I will quit worrying one day.
I had been running for 9 months with a retail HSF a 900Thunderbird with the temps reported as 67 C at idle. I'm not saying for sure whether this is an error or issue with Gigabyte boards, as the only way of telling for sure, is a thermistor on the core itself. Having seen your post makes me a little less worried though.

Hope this helps a little.

I have spoken to another owner of a GA-7DX at school and he says that his mobo sensors show higher than true temps. So this is certainly a GA "feature".

Is there anyway to change the volatages on this board? Maybe through a BIOS hack?

There is a way to increase voltage, but not by using the BIOS. It really is tricky work and involves cutting or joining the bridges on the CPU itself. Not really a task for the faint hearted, you can find a guide to the bridges here.
