Hello every1. I wanna clock my poor duron 1,2, but first I need a new cooler. I already have a chassi fan.

The cpu is lined with condensators, so there is only room for a width/ depth 80mm/ 70mm cooler.

Some of my candidates are:

Copper silent tc (the old un)

Whisperrock IV

Aero 7 (might fit)

Volcano 10+

Skivestream II silent

Microflow II

Any more ideas?
Can u help me choose one?

Thanks in advance

WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!!! Ha! Beat the rest of you to it!!! :p Anyhow, can you put up a pic of the motherboard you have, or a link or make and model number at least so we can see what kind of restrictions you have to deal with?

Well, the Thermalright SK6 is 64mm square at the base (according to Thermalright's site (http://www.thermalright.com/)) so I think that would fit and from my observations of other's results it's not too far behind the bigger, newer thermalright sinks in terms of cooling. Now I've never used one personally but I haven't really heard anything bad about it ever. If you want to look into detail which sinks would be a good choice check this (http://www.overclockers.com/articles373/) out.

WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!

you're quite lucky as very few get the official welcome from a moderator like eobard.

as for your cooling question, I'd agree with eobard about getting the SK6. they cool very well and are cheap.

try to get the SK6, but if you can't, then the Aero 7 from your list is a decent cooler.

as for pictures in the future, you can try www.theforumisdown.com . you can upload pictures there, as long as they are smaller than 50kb.

Allthough iam the HEATSINK guy around here and also the greatest super hero on earth..iam unsure about this one. You can try the Volcano 11+ Xasier edition but iam not sure if it will fit your case.

well, the base of the Volcano 11+ is 68mm x 70mm, so it might fit.

but I truly dislike it. (I have one...) It looks nice, but does not cool as well as it looks. I don't even think it's much better than the stock AMD heatsink with the copper lug in the base, if you use the same fan... the only thing that's good on it is the fan. I now use the stock AMD heatsink with the fan from the V11+.
