I just purchased an Athlon TB 1.2 (266fsb) at mwave.com. I was getting ready to do some serious O/Cing. Got out my trusted mechanical pencil to connect the L1 bridges. But to my surprise and delight the L1s were not severed! I must be dreaming. Did AMD finally did away with severing the L1 bridges? Or am I just simply lucky cause the bloke whose sole job at the manufacturing plant was to severe the L1 could not make it into work that day cause he stayed out all night drinking. Anyhoo, I slapped that sucka on my mobo and....well, you all know what I did next.

Actually, all AMD CPU's from 1.2gigs and higher are factory unlocked by default. Pretty cool huh?

I actually had a friend who had a 750 duron that didn't have its bridges cut, but Tacoman is correct. 1.2s and higher don't have cut bridges.

That is pretty damn sweet. The O/Cing gods has finally heard our prayers.

Kinda takes some of the fun out of it, don't it!!!
Just kidding..
Actually I have to think that someone at AMD was rather amazed that so many of us were actually able to reconnect such an INCREDIBLY SMALL connection!
I used to think my eyesight was pretty good!!!
