Hello
I would like to know how they work. Do i just insert the card in a pci slot, then install the software and my pc will start receiving tv channels?? Do i have to connect the tv card with a tv set..? Do i have to have an expensive sound card? I am using a creative sound blaster 16pci
and finally are they worth the money?

Put the card in, install the necessary drivers. You'll need a tv(coaxial) cable, and most likely a cable box, plug it all in, and you're set. Once you get the card installed it's really no different than hooking up a TV.

What do you mean by cable box tom10167?
All you have to do is plug in your TV aerial, scan for channels using the software included, and thats it, start watchin.:)

Ya like voodoomelon said their easy to work with you can even use rabbit ears to pick up stations a cable line is better but not required and as for value that all depends on your feeling on it. I think they are and if your asking that question you will most likely feel they are too.

where do i connect a tv coaxial cable?
The TV card has a coax input for a cable (if you have cable tv) or an antenna. Some cards have internal sound output to connect directly to your sound card/motherboard (for onboard sound). They usually use a typical sound card to cd-rom cable. If not, the card usually comes with an external cable to connect the tv card to the sound card (line out to line in).
You need to install the WDM drivers for the TV card, then the software to watch tv. There's a lot of free tv viewers out there. DScaler is probably one of the best. You can get a bunch HERE (http://www.tv-cards.com/apps.php)
For PVR (Personal Video Recorder), Snapstream (http://www.snapstream.com) sells software that's probably the best on the market. They have a 21 day trial period and a 100% money back guarantee.
