I am in the process of helping my mom decide whether or not her stock group should sell their Intel stocks away. First of all, they owned the stock when it was at its peak, they are not very good investors lol, they should've sold it. Anyway, I dont know whos gonna win the cpu wars. Intel is coming up with Northwood, IA-64 Architecture, .13 Tualutin, the Xeon processor is scheduled to hit 2 ghz and amd is where??? Amd has nothing spectacular coming out soon, 1533 mhz palomino sometime soon? no .13 micron stuff til the end fo the year. There is an advantage to what they are doing, though. The avg. person doesnt know what .13 micron is and why it is better - so intel could be wasting valuable money.
- P4 is a massive failure by intel
- Intel motherboards and boards for Intel's chips are not selling at all
- Intel is the bigger company, its been around for 30+ years, everybody trusts them (i dont know why, but they do)
-Northwood will probably beat the Palomino until it gets .13 micron and is up to about 1.8+ ghz (If p4 is not at 3 + ghz by then) ---- But does this matter? who is gonna buy a p4 that costs 1000 dollars just for the processor.
Guys, I really need input on this, its greatly appreciated, thanx
