Hey everbody that reads this if u have Asus A7V that came out in July 2000 with a Revision below 1.05 u will have no chance getting 133mhz FSB but u can still get up to 109mhz fsb so use the multiplier i have gotten 969MAX but just 20min ago i pushed that even farther the highest i could POST at was 1016Mhz (yah i passed 1ghz) but unforntantly after it searches for ata100 drives it justs sits there and doesnt start booting windows. but i was capible of getting 1ghz still i 9.5x105 (997MHz) i had huge stack errors and stuff so i could only get into Safemode but i benched my computer at 997.50Mhz ...i am running at 978 to get into windows properly and did sandrasoft pics... sorry no pics since i dont know how to put them into the forum... i maxed out at 1011Mhz
Congrats' on ur OC!
Those are the exact same speed's I got out of my Duron, with Stock cooling! I ran 978MHz Rock Stable, and could Bench @997MHz, but windows would freeze after 5 min's.
What temp's are u reading?
What cooler do u use?

I have Duron 700 And I could get FSB to 133 mHz fine but nothing over 800 mHz cpu speed. I am trying find out about all the L1, L2, L3 etc. on the cpu wwhere can I find info on these things?
Heat on My Duron is at 70C+ is this a problem?

Yea, all those numbers sound familiar. I tried for weeks to get stable at 1 gig with the same board and cpu...no luck.
Had a Taisol HSF w/26cfm fan and 1.8 Vcore and it was getting too hot for me at 997MHz, about 54c.
I just figured I hit the ceiling on that chip. What a great CPU though..it took a beatin and kept on kickin. Tried all kinds of combinations on FSB and still couldn't do it.
Upgraded to an A7V133 and thought I could "get the gig"........still wouldn't do it.
So, I ordered a 1 gig t-bird...that's not cheating is it????
Welcome to the forums BIG-O-2. 70c is very very hot. What kind of heatsink and case cooling do you have? I would recommend an SK-6, it will drop your temps at least 20c.

BIG-O-2 welcome to the forums.... umm 70c sounds like u have a problem check your Fan it might not be moving or gonig like below 1000rpm (most socket a fans run over 4500rpm) mine at 1ghz is too hot to tuch and i got my second fan going full blast.... but i nkow mine is too hot but at 70c it would like burn my figure after 5seconds but mine isnt that hot.

Getting the temp in the 50c range is most adviseable.

Has anybody been able to get higher then me with the same config? befour rev1.05 and 700duron?

........i have a7v rev 1.05 too but my duron 750 crapped out at 1ghz so the highest i got was 990....(7.5 * 132) but i chipped it so now i m using a duron 650 at 990(7.5 *132.......again)
the comp doesnt like me....or something like that as i am never able to get past 1ghz mark.........grrrrrrrr

sky use what i did.... bring down the fsb a tad and pump up hte mulitplyer....i couldnt get intowindows anything higher then 978mhz i downloaded CPUFSB and tuned it all the way to 1016.02 anything higher was a death wish i had about 5seconds to lower it below that or the blue screens of death come up......i think u can do it soo low as in 0.25MHz increases with that program... so i booted at 978 then got into windows and surpassed the ghz...i think an extra 316.02 mHz is plenty of extra speed becuase the avg is 948Mhz ...u got 132mhzfsb tahts awsmoe put up the multiplier now becuase i got rev1.01 i cant do more then 107mhz odd time 109mhz u should have a better chance getting more power out of it........
i am acutally looking in my book now there is a i/o voltage of 3.56defualt i have option of 3.35 and 3.69 i wonder what happens if i get 3.69 if my vcore will increase to 1.95 maby.... well i have orderd my 1ghz cpu going to pick it up tommorow....and also check out teh thread for the free amd stickers...wehn stuff is FREE ITS ALL GOOD HEHE. :)

hehe
i just ordered the stickers.......i m just wondering when they would deliever it and will they like charge?
about the fsb part i used to use cpucool to adjust my fsb but one time i was running at default speed then i upped the fsb.....everything on my comp just crashed so i rebooted.....and i couldnt get into windows normal mode....i was only to get into safe mode so i had to use win2k (i was dual booting that time) for a while until i found my win98 disc to reinstall

1) Go to tomshardware.com. There is an in depth article there about the various L bridges.
2) Yes, yes it is. My system is different, I've a Duron 800@1053 (unstable at 1111mhz) and I've got my temps at a 50c max. Hopefully your 70c+ is under heavy load, yes?

Actually under normal load I found the HSF to be the problem the paste that came with the HSF was very thick like glue. I changed over to a CCK-6035D Vantec and it does 40C - 47C now but only at 105X9 @ 1.68V.
Wondering if the CV are moved to 1.88V will it go faster or just get HOTTER ???
Anyone care to guess?

why exactly does companies put thermal pad over the heatsink if most people are going to scrape it off?
why don't they just put some artic silver 2 on it then stick the sticker over it then ship it.....that would be good.

I have an Abit KT7A-RAID mobo and my Duron 600Mhz will do 1125Mhz (150FSBx7.5) at 2.1 volts, ROCK STABLE!! I use water and my temps hit 35C under full load using Hot CPU Tester 2 Pro
hey if i put on a thermoengine, with delta 38, how high u guys think itll go?

Does the thermal pad do anything....beucase u end up scraping it off the cpu carfully and the bottem of the sink in the end...arctic silver II how much do u need? more then 1G becuase it would be nice if u get it for free with a cpu purchase since the chips are allready dirtj cheep compared to INTEL ..i feel like i am getting more for my allready low amount if u get some free stuff....i got the VolcanoII its awsome got 36.2CFM air speed here

I do. The answer is... Bill Cosby. (You did say you wanted a guess right?) :)
Seriously though when I unlocked my chip I shorted all of the L7's to get max volts just assuming I would have to eventually and every time you remove the sink to make another adjustment you provide yourself another opportunity to crack the core. My speed went from 936 (117X8 ) to 1053 (117X9), my volts went from 1.67( although Sandra reported 1.07 if you'd believe that!) to 1.87 and lastly my temps under heavy load went from 40c to 50c.
Hope this info helps.
