Athlon 900...

Ok, I just got a Athlon 900 (nice upgrade from my Celeron 333) and now I gotta start messin' with it. It's actually my girlfriends. She works at CompUSA and the guys there built it for her. Its a MSI board, Athlon 900, 393 MB RAM, Maxtor 20 Gig HD, DVD, CD-RW and Ethernet Cards. Nothin' fancy. So far this place has been great to read up on. I understand the "pencil trick" but is there anything else that I should do? I know get better cooling. I am not looking to heavily mod this thing out, just tweak it. I gotta tweak it. I even had to make new speaker wire for my Klipsch speakers (used Monster Cable). Any help would be great.
