Right, at the moment im waiting for my ram to come so i can overclock my 2.4b past 2.84 hehe
What i want to know is all the tweaks and best drivers to get be a good score for 3dmark2001. I know about the usual tweaks like vsync off and riva etc. Please help me :D
Fastest drivers for Geforce4 are 40.72s or 41.09s :)

For highest scores you can do the following:
- Try Drivers 40.72 and 42.01 (I use 42.01)
- Fresh windows install, or at least defrag your HD
- Turn AA, AF, Vsync, Fog Emulation, etc. all OFF
- Set Direct3d LOD to 3-4 (I run 4.0)
- Run 3dmark01 in windows "Realtime"
- Close all applications running in the background that you can, such as anti-virus, internet security, MBM5, etc. (I only have about 12 services running in Task Manager)
- Don't have a lot of icons on your desktop
- Overclock CPU and memory as high as possible
- Overclock video card as high as possible
And just try a lot of different settings in RivaTuner to find what works for your setup. Keep good records of what you did and how it affected your score, so that you can go back to them later.

what about the 41.03 drivers? From the 45.xx drivers i had the 41.03 we extremly good. ill try 42.01 tho :)
Currently my best score is 13933, altho i have pc2100 and the timing at 2.5 5 3 3, and my p4 2.4b @ 2.75 :( I have some pc3500 black level ll on the way, how high do u think i can get my score with that?
Also my gf4 is @ 325/729 stock 300/650 ish
What is "Set Direct3d LOD to 3-4 (I run 4.0)"
Anything else i can do? Ive done all that is in
Edward2's post :)
Thanks for your help so far :D

The 41.03 drivers may be just as good. I simply have not tried them myself.
Looking at other people's scores, you should probably score in the 15k range. Maybe a little higher if you can increase your CPU overclock when you get your new memory.
You can use RivaTuner to change the Direct3d LOD (Level of Detail). Higher numbers provide less detail, which is good for 3dmark01 scores but is very bad for actual gaming. In RivaTuner you need to click on the "power user" tab, then click on the plus sign next to "global settings" (or global something), and change the LOD Bias Range to 4. Then you can go to the Direct3d window and change your LOD setting 4.

ok great. my p4 can hit 2.84 on default voltage so im hoping that i can get a little over 3.0 hopefully i can get 15k or vv close:D
will the pc3500 black level ll run overclocked with tight timings? coz with my pc2100 the timings change my score quite a bit :)

Here (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7210200) is a good score to compare your score to. Keep in mind that Audiman is running at 3.2 GHz and 247 FSB, but his video card is overclocked very similar to yours (320/738). His score = 16284.
(edit) You should see a very good improvement in your memory bandwidth with the new memory. Your current memory is only rated for 133 MHz, while the new memory is rated for 217 MHz. You should be able to run the new memory at 2-2-2-5 all the way up to 200 FSB, which would be 3.6 GHz with your CPU. I'm not saying you will reach 3.6 Ghz, but I am saying that your memory should not hold you back at all.

That link doesn't work anymore because I shattered my record.

nice i take it that u got ur video mem so high from it being that cold? hehe. i doubt im gonna hit 3.3ghz with my chip but we will see :D
Also on the last "game" we have the same fps 89 which is kinda weird u could probly up ur score if u could find out what is lowering ur fps in that game :D
Also have u tryed the 41.03 drivers? they have been very nice compared to the 45.xx ones :)

I was in my garage for hours and tried all the drivers.
I also totally forgot to run 3dMark in realtime. So possibly when I was running that test, some other backround app was taking up CPU usage. Who knows.
I have the Thermaltake A1349 cooling kit for my Ti-4600, and the RAM/GPU heatsinks were super cold!
I had a 119CFM fan blowing 8c air directly at it hehehe.

Where would this Direct3D window be where you change the LOD to 4?
