Questions about buffalo ram & BH-5 & CH-5 & micron chips

A while ago I ordered 2, 512MB sticks of buffalo pc3700 with Winbond BH-5. Later i was informed that it would not be BH-5 but instead CH-5 and i accepted that and figured there probably wouldnt be that much of a differnce, or at least not one that would be worth the effort to cancel my order etc and pay more somewhere else. Today (a little over a long month later) however I recieved 1 512MB stick of Buffalo DD466-512/MC, the buffalo ram with micron chips. (MT 46V32M8TG-5B C) and my question is this:

Will the ram with Micron chips (MT 46V32M8TG-5B C) be better, the same, or worse than Winbond BH-5/CH-5 and if so by how much? If it is better, I will just request an additional stick, otherwise I am going to get either a refund or BH-5 or CH-5.

Personally I doubt that a 5ns Micron chip can exceed 200/400MHz by much, but you've got the ram, test it and see. I'm not keen on the idea of giving up my BH5s but I haven't had the opportunity to try the Micron version. I can't see mixing ram within a dual channel configuration as being wise no matter how good or bad the Micron might be.

yeah if the micron is better i would get another stick of micron, otherwise id get 2 sticks of the bh-5 or ch-5 depending on if they have any....Im not too keen on testing it thou, its a pain in the *** and its a retail package which is sealed etc. and i havent opened it yet...

go for the bh-5 if u can get it. i just tested a couple buffalo pc3700 micron flavor as opposed to my buffalo with bh-5 chips. the bh-5's are a good deal faster. here's a snipit:

bh-5

470 11,2,3,2 @ 3.2v

micron

430 11,2,3,2 @ 3.2v

took timings of 11,3,3,2.5 and 3.2v to get the micron stable @ 440mhz DDR.

my conclusion, the bh-5's are better, especially with more voltage. Take this with a grain of salt, because i just did some quick testing and passed the micron chips back to my bud. Stickin with my bh-5's.
