A7N8X DX rev 2. Barton 2500+.

I knew better but bought Nanya because that's the only non-generic I could find at the PC Fair last weekend. Started overclocking today. Got FSB up to 180 and dropped the mult to 10.5. All ok. Tried 185 and the nice post reporter told me the memory failed. Upped vcore to 1.675 but left DDR at default of 2.6. Other options are 2.7 and 2.8 but haven't tried them yet. Memory still fails but is back running at 180.

Memory settings are 3 3 3 8 which is the default. I have no idea what to do with them. Sticker on the memory says 256mb DDR - 400MHz - CL3. I don't like that CL3 but I really don't know. PC3200U - 30330. Number at the top of the sticker is NT256D64S88B1G-5T. Taiwan.

Is this just crap or is there something I can do to get it higher? There's another fair this weekend so I can exchange it but I don't think they have any better.

I would go ahead and bump your DDR voltage to 2.7 and see what happens. I've never heard of anybody having problems running at 2.7v DDR, and it might give you that little extra boost to get to 200 FSB.

Also, you could try setting your CAS latency to 2.5 even though your memory is rated at CL3. The Nforce2 chipset sometimes doesn't like running at CAS 3.
