About mobile Radeon

I want to know some basic info here:

I'm very confussed with this need one pin compatible configuration of the mobile Radeon 9200 that my laptop has.

Does this means that I might be able to put apart my machine, unplug the mobile 9200 and upgade it with, say a mobile 9600? Or did I missed something?

I've heard about some laptops having a ZIF socket type thing to upgrade the GPU and Ram but I've not seen it. All the laptops I've opened up have the GPU and Ram soldiered to the board.
