what is your heatsink? if you want to wait a little a socket a version of the sp94 heatpipe is coming out around december.... or you could always watercool

and if you don't want to wait there is the slk 900A

There will be an sp-94 for socket A? FINALLY whew. not that it matters, though, as i was going to use it on gpu anyways.

NOTED A PREVIOUS POST ON OVERCLOCKERS OF USING THE PSU FAN GOT MY OLD 200W AND TOOK OUT THE FAN SITUATED IT JUST ABOVE THE CPU AND HEATSINK TEMPS AROUND 50DEG WHEN NOT EVEN OVERCLOCKED.

You need a better heatsink.

Go pick up an slk-900A from www.svc.com

BRIMCV, You might try a HSF with some higher CFM before
you go to far.I would say 50 CFM and up. Then if you still don't like your temps you can get the www.Thermalright.com HS.
In the mean time you may want to visit the above link and get familure with the products there.Visit the support page for install
tips.I recommend printing the install if you decide on one of these.
The directions dont come with the HS's in the box!I'll get you a HS review link in a minute.:D THE FANMAN:cool:

I am in the uk plus i am poor student lol. When i had it clocked at 3200+ i had similar temps *Strange* i have a fan extracting the air at the back and also one in the window of my case was thinking of using that PSU fan on the top of the case to draw in air for case cooling.

How accurate are the Gigabyte temp readings i am reading on speedfan temps
TEMP 3 51 DEG
TEMP 1 34 DEG
TEMP 2 25 DEG

As u said a new heatsink etc that sink is rated at 3000+ so it should cool a 2600+ down.

Could it be a prob with voltages??

The possabilities are endless. But we can narrow them down to
0 if we stick with it. 1st,If I could get you to put your rigs specs in your signature it makes it easier to help you.We just need from the PSU up for now. Please put your HS type and the HSFan type.
I've been seeing ppl complain about the mobo temp accurracy??
Are you getting these readings from the BIOS? Or a display on your screen? When you guess at things you waste money & time.
We must DIAGNOSE the issue. With minumal costs.

Did you put the system together your self? Do you have access to a higher CFM fan in the 80mm size.Looks like a straight forward
remove & replace on the CPU HS fan. You'll need a 3 wire fan.The
3rd wire is for rpm sensing. Also did you read the review yet?
THE FANMAN:cool:

BRIMCV

Yeah the fan i have has 3 wires as u said. I read the review. The UK is in the stone age when overclocking. Will try and get a new heatsink and fan. The system was put to gether by myself.
Only website with a list of gd coolers is www.dabs.com.

What type of( thermal interface material) did you use when you mounted the HS to the Processor/ mobo.( T.I.M. )?? Can you get access to Thermalright products? You will need a top line HS as
the AMD run hot as a candle flame!:D Every detail is important.
Did you go to thermalright and check which model fits your rig?
