I was wondering if I could lock my icons to my desktop so they won't get rearrenged every time I change my resolution (I have to do this when I use my tv as my screen)?
Any and all help/comments appriciated!

go to display property by right click on an empty area in desktop

choose "desktop" tab and choose "web" tab. check "lock desktop items"

hope it helps

You can lock down the position of the Desktop icons using a couple of files from the NT 4.0 Resource Kit...

http://www.pcnineoneone.com/tweaks/layout.zip

Place Layout.dll in the %systemroot%\System32 directory, and then double-click on Layout.reg (which merges the Registry entries contained within). From then on, whenever you right-click on the "Recycle Bin" or "My Computer" icons, you'll see a new option..."Save [or Restore] Desktop Icon Layout". :)
