I just purchased and set up an amd 1.2 with an Asus Board and my temps were running at 145 F so i added another case fan and got it down to 140 F. I guess what i am asking is that temp to hot or is that fairly normal for this type of CPU.
Please help....Thanks !!

Thats way to hot!! You should be in the mid 40's C for CPU temps,
and 80-90f (30-35c) for board temp.
Where do you live? In the Sahara desert?
Post some more system information.
140F is roughly 59 / 60C, If you are using the ASUS Probe to monitor your temperatures keep in mind that it's been repoeted that this program shows temps as much as 10C higher than actual. My own experience confirms this.
That being said, it looks like your temps are on the edge of acceptability and you need some help in the cooling department. Make sure that you have a good hsf as well adequate air movement in and around the inside of your case, you need a constant flow of fresh air through the case to expell the hot air from your hsf as well as the other components in there.
Try posting in the cooling section, you will probably get faster results there.

Frank is correct, post some info
1. MOBO
2. HSF
3. Memory
4. Video card
5. Case cooling
6. PSU
7. Are you using the sticky pad or thermal grease on the HSF?
All these help others, help you.
Good luck and welcome to the forum.
Mines at 44 right now and its kinda warm in the house
Might want to think of upgrading your HSF to a Globalwin or thermalright Sk6....
